Nature. She provides.

I traveled to Iceland last weekend to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday and over 20 years of friendship.

I always feel deeply grounded, connected and human when I am in nature, and this feeling was magnified as we visited the extraordinary Gullfoss Falls. The power and sheer abundance of the water made me feel simultaneously small and important. It also reminded me of the abundance of this world.

When coaching clients, scarcity is a common theme. In a scarcity mindset, you see the world as a finite pie and you're in a dogfight with everyone else to get a sizable chunk. You see limitations rather than possibilities.

This is natural. We are hardwired to think this way because the human brain is not designed to make us happy. It’s designed to help us survive. However, if you've ever been in a scarcity mindset, you can probably attest to the fact that it's not much fun, and that it's not helping you get where you want to go.

On the flip side of scarcity is abundance. In an abundance mindset, you recognize that there is plenty out there for everybody, and this allows you to see more options, choices and resources in your life.

Interested in breaking out of your scarcity mindset and feeling some abundance? One of the keys to developing an abundance mindset is by practicing gratitude. So in the spirit of abundance, at Gullfoss and in my life, here's a few things I'm feeling grateful for right now.

🌼 I am grateful to my friends, for prioritizing our friendship through all of life's joys and difficulties. I am grateful for the laughter and the tears

🌼 I am grateful to have the health, freedom and financial resources to travel and experience the world

🌼 I am grateful to Iceland. To the people for their warm welcome and for modeling how to care for our cultures and the planet. To the land for its beauty, diversity and power

🌼 I am grateful for connection: with my friends and with nature

🌼 I am grateful to have had the opportunity to do something for me this weekend

💪 Coaching challenge of the week: Write down ten things you're grateful for every single day 💪
