Welcome to Hayley Rosenlund Executive Coaching

Two years ago I quit my job. I was running a team of 23 salespeople in a sales and trading business that generated nine-figure revenues. To get there, I had put in twelve years of long-hours, intense pressure and stress, paid for my own Masters level education, and moved from Canada to London and then Paris.

Finally I felt financially secure. Finally I got to put my ideas to work. Finally I got to build, lead and inspire. Finally I could be proud of myself. â€‹That’s how it felt for about five minutes. From minute six, my stomach was inflamed. My heart was hurting. My body was soft. My mind was exhausted. My spirit was crushed.

It took two years of soul-searching, but finally I quit. No pay check or fancy title was worth the toll on my happiness, my body, my relationships. I took a year off. I tamed the inflammation. I healed my heart and mind. I strengthened my body. I reconnected with my husband, son and broader family. I was less sad. And I was ready. Ready to figure it all out again, ready to do it all again, ready to become.

I chose coaching. When things got tough during my final two years in investment banking, I worked with an inspirational coach. She helped me let go of my finance career and the self-image that went with it, and believe that there could still be a bright future ahead.

I thought about the parts of my job that I loved the most. It wasn’t financial markets, and it wasn’t sales. It was people - collaborating, building, developing. Working within a team, giving our members the platform, direction and encouragement to reach their goals. Setting high expectations, whilst also listening, caring, helping, supporting, and humanizing.

I thought about what I wanted for the world. A world where diverse individuals have the chance to succeed. A world where employees aren’t treated like equipment, useful until they break down, or robots, useful for getting the job done without thinking, feeling or challenging. A world where employees are treated like humans, in all of their flawed glory.

And I did it. I’m now an Executive Coach who loves working with top talent, emerging leaders and diverse individuals who are navigating periods of uncertainty, personal and professional transitions, or career progression; who are getting real with themselves about what they love, what they want to get out of life, and what legacy they want to leave when they go; who know they have untapped potential and who are are looking to unleash the power within themselves. It’s everything I love, everything I believe, everything I want to see in the world, and everything I want to leave behind.

So where are you at now, in your career and in your life?

Maybe you feel exhausted, juggling way too many balls and one (or more) is about to drop. Lacking support and acknowledgement for all that you do. Longing to be intentional with your time and energy. Longing for one bloody hour to yourself!

Maybe you’re going through a transition. The uncertainty casts a fog over everything from your finances, to your identity, confidence and ability to trust yourself. You don’t know who you are anymore, what you want from life. You’ve become afraid to dream. â€‹â€‹

Maybe your work life feels unbearable. Deep down you know that you’re capable, but the cut-throat environment has chipped away at your confidence and left you feeling like a shell. Like you’re not enough. You long for resilience and self-belief.

If any of these scenarios resonate, know that it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve to be seen, heard and supported. You deserve to feel confident and empowered.

This is where I come in.

Clients come to me feeling exhausted, uncertain, vulnerable, inadequate, pessimistic, like their own worst enemy. We work together so that they leave feeling clear, confident, self-aware, balanced, authentic and resilient. And most importantly, we work together so that they leave with the necessary tools to continue to progress towards their goals.

Why work with me? You've got it all already. You've got the education, the experience, the drive, the tenacity, the care. My only job is to help you focus on that, instead of getting stuck on the dark spots. My only job is to be your cheerleader as you push beyond your comfort zone, believing in you when it's hard to believe in yourself. My only job is to be there alongside as you transform into the most powerful version of yourself.

Three of the Five Ws

Who?

I am an Executive Coach who coaches individuals at various levels of seniority, from those with management ambitions, up to senior leaders. I specialize in coaching women in finance and other male-dominated industries, but am motivated to work with anyone who wants to make the corporate world work for them, on their terms.

What?

I am trained by the Co-Active Training Institute, which informs my coaching method. Co-Active coaching helps us understand our journey through life and intentionally design our life’s purpose and calling. It helps us discover the courage to be who we want to be and create what we want to see. It is a form of coaching that focuses on the whole person, and that holds fulfillment, balance and process as its key principles.

Why?

I loved my 12-year career in Investment Banking. I learned precious skills and life lessons, met inspiring people and made lifelong friends, but the job was not serving me anymore. In exploring my vision for the future, I realized that the most gratifying moments of my career were when I was working to grow and develop people, or when I was working to create change and impact. Coaching gives me a platform to focus on these two things: developing others while creating the change I want to see in the world: a more equal and humane corporate environment.
